We’ve almost completed two full weeks of the 2022 NFL schedule, and some teams have bounced back big in Week 2 of the season, making big jumps in our NFL power rankings before Week 3.
Among the great risers? It’s the Arizona Cardinals who teamed up to win in overtime the Las Vegas Raiders, the Detroit Lions that impressed the Washington Commanders, and the Jacksonville Jaguars that excluded the Indianapolis Colts.
Check out how we ranked the 32 NFL teams entering Week 3 of the 2022-23 season, from lowest to highest. Previous order in parentheses.

Atlanta is 0-2, but has been close in both games this season. Next up is a very winnable game against the Seahawks.
Carolina 0-2, but their loss was five points overall. There may be many other near misses coming your way.
The Texans couldn’t tell with the Broncos, but they have a winnable game against the Bears in Week 3.
Big boost to the Jets for somehow coming back to beat the Browns. We didn’t see this coming.
28. Seattle Sea Falcons (26)
Seattle wasn’t looking good in San Francisco. How did the Seahawks beat the Broncos in Week 1?
What changed?: NFL power rankings before Week 2 | 1 week
27. Indianapolis Colts (15)
Colts 0-1-1 after embarrassment at Jacksonville. We had to leave them after that performance.
The Patriots are 1-1 after a 17-14 win over the Steelers, but they have issues.
Yep, Giants 2-0. After hosting the Week 3 Cowboys, they could be 3-0. Should we rank them higher? We haven’t been sold in the beginning yet.
Can this suit hang out with Bills on a Monday night? We don’t have to wait long to find out.
23. Jacksonville Jaguars (31)
We’re rewarding this team for absolutely battering the Colts in Week 2. Well done Jacksonville. The future looks bright.
The Bears returned to Earth in a Week 2 loss to the Packers. 1-1, but it may be difficult to get a win this season.
21. Las Vegas Raiders (20)
Yes, the Raiders are 0-2 but we still think this team is a good team. Maybe not as good as we thought at the beginning of the season.
20. Denver Broncos (21)
This team was unaffected by the 1-1 start to the season. Still, the Broncos are 1-1.
The Browns somehow let the Jets beat them in an epic collapse (or an epic comeback, depending on your perspective).
Maybe there really is life after Dak Prescott’s injury for the Cowboys?
17. Washington Commanders (16)
We’re not quite sure what to do about the Commanders yet, so we’ll leave them a point after we lose to the Lions.
We wrote last week that Bengals fans don’t have to worry about a 0-1 start. At 0-2, they should worry now.
15. Pittsburgh Steelers (12)
The Steelers’ defense is impressive. It’s the offense that worries us about Pittsburgh’s chances for the rest of this season.
New Orleans didn’t look good in their Week 2 loss to the Buccaneers, but the Bucs could make many teams look bad this season.
13. Arizona Cardinals (23)
Are we raising cardinals too high? Probably. But this comeback win against the Raiders deserves to be rewarded.
12. Detroit Lions (22)
This team looked good in their week 1 defeat to the Eagles. He looked even better in a Week 2 win over Commanders.
11. San Francisco 49ers (14)
Trey Lance was out, but the 49ers had an insurance policy on quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.
10. Green Bay Packers (13)
We learned it was too soon to panic in Green Bay after the Packers’ Week 1 loss, but we’re not sure how impressive it really was to beat the Bears.
9. Minnesota Vikings (9)
Like the other teams on Monday night, the Vikings will stay where they are until we see how they perform this week.
8. Baltimore Ravens (7)
A row drops after Lamar Jackson and the Ravens let the Dolphins rally against them. We’re still high in Baltimore.
7. Miami Dolphins (8)
Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins moved up one spot after an impressive comeback against the Ravens. Maybe they should go higher.
6. Philadelphia Eagles (6)
We’re keeping the Eagles just ahead of Monday night’s game against the Vikings, which will be a good barometer for Philadelphia.
5. Los Angeles Coaches (5)
The Rams recovered from their loss to the Bills by beating the Falcons. A showdown with the cardinals begins.
4. Los Angeles Chargers (4)
Justin Herbert’s situation looms large over the Chargers, who remain at number 4 after a close defeat to the Chiefs.
3. Tampa Bay Pirates (3)
Pirates seem to be the cream of the NFC crop in week two of the 2022 NFL season.
2. Kansas City Chiefs (2)
The Chiefs beat what we think is a very good Chargers team to go 2-0 on Thursday night.
1. Buffalo Bills (1)
We’re keeping them at #1 until we see the result of their Monday night game against the Titans. After seeing this result, we predict that they will remain number 1.
